Members of the Executive Committee share what they most look forward to seeing in the District over the next two years.
“As the Media District continues to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic and people return to the office from a work-at-home routine, it is more important than ever that the BID feels like a great place to be. To that end, we asked members of the Executive Committee what they most look forward to seeing in the district over the next two years.”
MIGUEL PADILLA, PRESIDENT
“I am excited by the way the BID is evolving from what it has been for a hundred years strictly a ‘nine-to-five business district to a more pedestrian live/work community. In addition to thriving media-related businesses, our stakeholders will have greater access to neighborhood-serving retail, restaurants, art galleries, and theaters. I think this will make the Media District a more dynamic community, both during and after normal business hours.”
STEPHEN BURN, SECRETARY
“I’m most looking forward to the BID continuing its work on prioritizing safe and clean streets. The recent outreach by our security officers, with an added focus on community engagement, helps put a face to the BID and its work. Adding trash cans and maintaining them properly sounds like a small thing, but it is something that directly impacts the look and feels of our streets and I anticipate seeing more of them in near future.”
JEFF LUSTER, PAST PRESIDENT
“I most look forward to the medians on Highland Avenue being finished.”
THOR LEE. VICE PRESIDENT
“We invested a lot of thought and work in improving our medians on Highland Avenue. I am excited to see the plants we put in them continue to mature over the next few years, as well as the tree lighting that will illuminate the major north/south corridor.”
