Tesla Diner in Hollywood Is Powered Up, Ready to Go
Originally reported by Forbes | July 13, 2025
The highly anticipated Tesla diner and drive-in theater in Hollywood appears to be nearly complete and powered up. The two-story retro-style diner—first proposed by Elon Musk years ago—is located on Santa Monica Boulevard near Orange Drive, just blocks from Netflix and Sunset Gower Studios.
The design includes a second-floor observation deck, Supercharger stations, and an outdoor movie screen designed for drive-in-style entertainment. Crews have been spotted working through the final touches, and the site is now lit up at night, drawing attention from locals and tourists alike.
While Tesla has not officially announced an opening date, on-site details indicate it’s close. Signage and lighting are active, and the surrounding fencing has started to come down, further hinting at an imminent debut.
The project was approved by the City of Los Angeles in 2022 and has since become one of the most talked-about retail experiences Tesla has developed. The original site was previously home to a Shakey’s Pizza, which was demolished to make way for the Tesla experience.
This marks a new kind of fusion for Tesla—combining automotive convenience, entertainment, and hospitality in one location. Once open, guests will be able to charge their vehicles while enjoying classic diner fare and movies from their cars.
The site will feature a 24-hour restaurant, rooftop seating, and Tesla’s signature EV charging stations—all designed to evoke the nostalgia of mid-century Americana with a futuristic twist.
As of now, fans are eagerly watching and waiting. One thing’s for sure: Hollywood is about to get a little more electric.
