When Édouard Manet painted Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe in 1863, he sparked an entirely new artistic movement—modernism. A century and a half later, 30 contemporary artists—like Robert Colescott, whose work appears above—collectively respond to this seminal work in a new show, Luncheon on the Grass, at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery. The exhibit kicks off with an all-day opening on Saturday, February 19 (11 am -7 pm) and runs through April 23.
