Crest
National Digital Media Complex
One of LA's Fastest Growing Private Companies
Since
its inception in 1961 as a small film laboratory to its current
status as one of the preeminent full service film and videotape
laboratories manufacturing DVD/CDs, video/film post production and
duplication services in Southern California. Crest National has
enjoyed a well earned reputation as one of the most innovative companies
in the industry. Not surprisingly, Crest National, celebrating it's
40th Anniversary this year, is listed as the 22nd fastest growing
private company in the November 12th issue of the Los Angeles Business
Journal's list of LA's top 100. Companies on the list are ranked
by rate of revenue growth from 1998 to 2000. They must be privately
owned, autonomous, for-profit entities based in Los Angeles County
and in business since January 1998. Achieving the rapid growth necessary
to qualify for the LABJ's list of 100 fastest growing private companies
is no easy feat. Crest National, with a total of 289 employees,
enjoyed a 124.2% growth in revenue growing from $29.3M in
1998 to $65.7M in 2000, however the LABJ quotes, "Of course,
even companies that carefully manage growth are likely to take a
hit in 2001". Crest National is located at 6721 Romaine Street
in the Hollywood Media District. Congratulations!

The
HMD holiday banners are installed throughout the district. Garlands
and red ribbons adorn the antique style light poles on Cole Avenue
in the Media District. They were done in part by a grant from the
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Economic Development Organization.
DWPLA sponsored a neighborhood beautification program by offering
$1,000.00 to 28 existing business improvement districts during
the holiday season. Happy Holidays to all!

The
nominating committee recently announced the slate of nominees for
the 2002 Board of Directors for the Hollywood Media District Property
Owners Association. The Board has expanded by two positions to a
total of thirteen members of the Board of Directors. The committee
received an overwhelming response of property owners that want to
participate on the Board of Directors. The by laws allow for this
expansion. Each nominee is appointed for a three-year term. If this
slate is not contested, then these property owners shall be elected
at the annual meeting of the Hollywood Media District in December.
The nominees are Jeff Anthony, Iron Mountain Film and Sound; Carol
Cassella, RenMar Studios; Ferris Wehbe, Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse;
Eliza Thorne, Seward Film Vaults. Expansion nominees are Brian Scane,
The Paladin Group, Inc.; Morton Lakretz, The Crossroads.
