With an annual budget of over $1.2 million, the Hollywood Media District provides numerous valuable public safety and beautification services for our neighborhood stakeholders. These services include including security patrols, graffiti clean-up and trash hauling.
The Clean/Green Team delivers supplemental maintenance services hiring formerly homeless and/or individuals with community service requirements by providing them with job training and paid employment experience.
Uniformed in HMD BID shirts, cleaning crews are deployed 5 days a week from 7:00am to 4:00pm, cleaning streets, collecting and bagging refuse, removing graffiti, cleaning street furniture and maintaining the trees. Using sustainable products and techniques, they keep our streets clean and our environment healthy.

Safety Ambassadors patrol the BID by foot and bicycle every day from 5:30 AM to 1:00 AM. Uniformed in neon yellow, they provide pedestrian and visitor information, merchant visits, vehicular assistance, homeless outreach and act as extra eyes and ears for the police department.
Each Ambassador receives 120 hours of training in public safety and crime prevention, First AID/CPR and AED certifications, customer service, conflict resolution and homeless outreach. If you are looking for Theatre Row or if you are looking for the newest “hotspot”, ask one of our roving Ambassadors!
